TCG Price Identifier ("TCG Identifier," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, processed, and protected when you use the TCG Price Identifier mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. App Overview

TCG Price Identifier helps users scan or upload trading card photos, identify visible card details, and receive estimated market value ranges based on AI analysis and available online market references.

The App is intended for informational collecting purposes only. Price estimates are not certified appraisals, grading results, authentication results, guaranteed sale prices, or official valuations.

2. Information We Process

A. Photos and Uploaded Images

When you scan a trading card using the camera or choose a photo from your photo library, the App processes the image to identify visible card details.

The image may be sent securely over HTTPS to third-party AI service providers through OpenRouter to generate the requested card identification and value estimate. The analysis may include visible details such as card name, set, card number, rarity, edition, language, foil or holo status, grading label details, certification number if visible, and visible condition.

We do not operate our own server for storing your uploaded card images. Images may be stored locally on your device if you save scan history, collection items, or wishlist items.

B. AI Identification and Market Reference Data

The App may process extracted card details and search queries to find relevant market references. This may include card names, set names, card numbers, condition notes, graded status, and similar visible card information.

Market reference results may include listing titles, prices, currencies, sources, URLs, snippets, relevance notes, and timestamps.

C. Local App Data

The App may store the following data locally on your device:

Scan history.
Saved collection items.
Wishlist items.
Card notes.
Target prices.
Submitted card photos saved with history, collection, or wishlist items.
Subscription status.
Free and premium scan counts.
Cached market reference results.
Onboarding and disclaimer acceptance status.

This local data is stored using standard iOS storage mechanisms and is not uploaded to our own server.

D. Purchase and Subscription Data

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We may receive subscription status, entitlement status, product identifiers, anonymous purchase identifiers, renewal status, and related transaction metadata needed to provide premium access.

We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Payment processing is handled by Apple.

E. Diagnostic Data

Apple may provide limited diagnostic or crash information if you have opted into sharing analytics with app developers in your iOS settings. We use this information to improve reliability and fix issues.

3. Permissions Used by the App

The App may request:

Camera access: to scan trading cards.
Photo library access: to select and analyze trading card photos.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in your iOS device settings.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

Provide AI-powered trading card identification.
Generate estimated low, typical, and high market value ranges.
Search and filter relevant card market references.
Display visible card details, confidence scores, and condition insights.
Save scan history, collection items, wishlist items, notes, and target prices locally on your device.
Manage free scan limits and premium subscription access.
Restore purchases and verify subscription status.
Improve app reliability and diagnose technical issues.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services to provide its features:

OpenRouter: Routes AI inference requests, including image and prompt data, to AI model providers such as Google Gemini and OpenAI.
SearchAPI.io: May be used to retrieve online market reference data when market search is enabled.
RevenueCat: Manages subscription status, entitlement checks, and purchase restoration.
Apple App Store / StoreKit: Processes in-app purchases and subscriptions.
Apple diagnostics: May provide crash and diagnostic data if you have opted in through iOS settings.

These third parties process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your card photos for third-party advertising tracking.

Information may be shared only as needed to:

Process AI identification requests.
Retrieve market reference information.
Manage subscriptions and purchases.
Comply with legal obligations.
Protect the rights, safety, or security of users, the App, or others.

7. Data Retention

Locally stored scan history, collection items, wishlist items, photos, notes, and target prices remain on your device until you delete them, clear the relevant app data, or uninstall the App.

Cached market reference data may be stored locally for performance and may expire automatically.

Subscription and purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their own policies and legal requirements.

8. Your Choices

You can:

Delete scan history in the App.
Delete saved collection and wishlist items.
Revoke camera or photo library access in iOS settings.
Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings.
Delete the App to remove locally stored app data from your device.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical measures designed to protect information processed by the App, including HTTPS transmission for network requests. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Important Limitations

TCG Price Identifier is not a certified appraisal service, grading service, authentication service, investment advisor, or official valuation provider.

Price estimates are for informational purposes only and may vary based on condition, grading status, authenticity, rarity, demand, location, photo quality, visible details, and available market data. The App may highlight visible authenticity indicators, but it does not verify or guarantee authenticity.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be identified by a new effective date. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
