1. App Overview

CoverWise AI is an AI-powered book cover scanner. The app allows users to scan or upload a photo of a book cover to receive AI-generated book information, such as a synopsis, genre insight, reading difficulty, and recommendation.

The app does not provide full book content, copyrighted book text, or official book reviews. AI-generated results may vary depending on image clarity and available information.

2. Information We Collect

CoverWise AI may collect or process the following types of information:

• Images you provide: Book cover photos that you scan or upload for AI analysis.
• AI scan results: Generated book summaries, detected titles, authors, genres, and related reading insights.
• Device language: Used to generate AI results in your device language while keeping the app interface in English.
• Purchase status: Information required to manage subscriptions, premium access, free scan credits, and restore purchases.
• Basic usage data: App interactions, crash data, and analytics data if analytics services are enabled.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Analyze book cover images using AI services.
• Generate book summaries, reading insights, and recommendations.
• Provide scan history and saved results on your device.
• Manage free scan credits and premium subscription access.
• Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience.
• Respond to support requests.

4. AI Processing

When you scan or upload a book cover, the image may be sent to a third-party AI service provider for analysis. The AI service processes the image to detect visible book information and generate a reading-related result.

Please do not upload images that contain sensitive personal information. CoverWise AI is intended only for book cover scanning.

5. Third-Party Services

CoverWise AI may use third-party services to operate key app features. These services may process data according to their own privacy policies.

• OpenRouter / AI model providers: Used to process book cover images and generate AI results.
• Apple StoreKit / App Store: Used to process subscriptions and in-app purchases.
• RevenueCat: May be used to manage subscriptions, entitlement status, and purchase restoration.
• Firebase Analytics: May be used to understand app usage and improve app performance if enabled.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

6. Local Data and Scan History

Scan history and generated results may be stored locally on your device. You may be able to delete scan history from within the app.

If you delete the app, locally stored scan history may also be deleted unless your device or system backup preserves it.

7. Subscriptions and Purchases

CoverWise AI may offer premium subscriptions that unlock unlimited scans or additional features. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.

We do not directly collect or store your payment card information. Subscription management, billing, cancellation, and refunds are handled by Apple according to App Store policies.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as necessary to provide app functionality, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and improve the app.

Images processed by third-party AI services may be subject to the data retention practices of those providers.

9. Children’s Privacy

CoverWise AI is not intended to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

10. Your Choices

You may:

• Choose not to upload or scan book cover images.
• Delete saved scan history if the app provides this option.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.
• Contact us for privacy-related questions.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International Users

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own depending on the third-party services used by the app. By using CoverWise AI, you understand that information may be processed where service providers operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
